Avant Garde in Glasgow on the market for £150,000
There are currently 48 covers for the main restaurant that is serviced by the fully-functioning commercial kitchen, as well as seating throughout the bar area for drinks and small bites

Avant Garde, a popular live music bar and restaurant in Glasgow city centre, has been brought to market on a leasehold basis for £150,000.
The business is located in the “thriving” Merchant City area in the centre of Glasgow, which is surrounded by offices, flats, retail shops, as well as other restaurants and bars.
The area is also known for holding annual festivals and is home to popular destinations such as the Gallery of Modern Art and the Scottish Youth Theatre.
Set up for live music, the main space of Avant Gard is open and spacious, with a well-stocked bar centrally located on the ground floor. There are currently 48 covers for the main restaurant that is serviced by the fully-functioning commercial kitchen, as well as seating throughout the bar area for drinks and small bites.
In addition, a large basement area doubles the size of the venue and “could easily” be developed to accommodate or extend the capacity of the property. To the side of the venue is a further function area that can be used for small conferences.
Alistair Watt, business agent at Christie and Co, who is handling the sale, said: “Avant Garde is a very popular live music venue within the Merchant City area of Glasgow and the sale provides an excellent opportunity for an owner-operator to take over this established pub and restaurant.
“Development of the basement area will only further enhance this business whilst the adjacent function room provides added options for any incoming operator.”
