Boxpark granted Shoreditch lease extension until September 2025

The Shoreditch site has hosted over 250 independent brands, generating almost £100m economic value for the area and creating 270 jobs per year

Boxpark has announced that its original flagship Shoreditch location will remain open until the end of September 2025 following support from the landlords Ballymore and Hammerson, the local community and its key stakeholders including Greater London Authority (GLA) and London Boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

Since its opening in 2011, Boxpark Shoreditch has become a cultural hotspot and a cornerstone of the local community, showcasing the variety of independent businesses and attracting over 1.25 million visitors each year. The venue has played a pivotal role in the regeneration of Shoreditch, driving economic growth and supporting local employment.

The Shoreditch site has hosted over 250 independent brands, generating almost £100m economic value for the area and creating 270 jobs per year.

Meanwhile, in Spring 2025, Boxpark will also launch its sibling social dining concept Boxhall in London’s Liverpool Street, providing a further 150 jobs with 14 kitchens and food retail spaces.

Boxpark COO Ben McLaughlin said: “The support we’ve received from the community has been nothing short of inspiring. The extension of our lease provides certainty to the 47 small, independent businesses, and hundreds of their employees across our Shoreditch site. We are absolutely thrilled to continue our journey in Shoreditch and remain committed to providing a platform for independent businesses and a vibrant space for our customers.

“As we move forward, we look forward to making the most of our site and partners’ support to ensure that Boxpark Shoreditch continues to thrive.”
